Beyond Photojournalism

I strive to make my photographs and service better and different than everyone else's. I consider myself a photojournalist, but I also go beyond that in my work, including video and still images for a full documentary feel to your end product, as well as striving for true artistic images and products to make your wedding images more than ordinary. All of my weddings start with a portrait / engagement session. This is the best way to get comfortable in front of the camera before the wedding day. We gennerally spend an hour somewhere in Portland getting some great relaxed images of you both. There are many examples on my blog as well as the gallery above. I also have a great engagement session guest book that showcases your images in a hardbound coffee table style book and there is room around all the images for your guests to sign in.

Why I Love Weddings

I love shooting weddings. I can shoot up to 2000 images in a single day creating a unique documentary project out of your wedding day. Every wedding is different which keeps me interested in wedding photography. I enjoy the challenge of capturing people’s emotions and personalities, and I love it when I see how satisfied my clients are when they receive their images that tell the story of their wedding.

Why I am different

Every photographer is different, and what sets me apart from other wedding photographers is my ability to capture a wedding as it happens, telling the story of your wedding without having to force you and your friends into a big production photo shoot. I concentrate on the candid images of you and what you are doing, the formals are taken care of quickly and in a relaxed session, and in the end my goal is for people to be amazed at the selection and quality of the images because they hardly knew I was there.

My studio also has several associate shooters available for very reasonable wedding package rates. I enjoy teaching photography and helping photographers learn how to become amazing wedding photoraphers. It is great to be able to do what I love for a living. I take all of my experience in wedding photography and all of my desire to create a beautiful work of art to every wedding, and I work at getting every image as perfect as can be to make sure you are more than ecstatic about you wedding images.
